About AnarchyWARE

AnarchyWARE was created in early 2007 as a place to build out contrarian-minded merchandise. The site uses designs created by Justin Owings, the founder of AnarchyWARE, in conjunction with ideas submitted from time to time by Aaron Krowne.

A common question visitors have is: so what’s up with “anarchy” being in your store’s name? Well, we understand anarchy as any system of interaction that isn’t governed by external initiations of force. More specifically, anarchy is all that happens outside the purveyance of government institutions. Anarchy isn’t chaos. Anarchy is actually very orderly - that is, if you think the way you relate to other human beings is orderly or the way you choose what you want for dinner is orderly. You see, there is no government in these actions. Thus, these events happen in anarchy!

As such, anarchy is everywhere. Even governments themselves operate anarchistically. It’s simply unavoidable and omnipresent. Thankfully.

So what can you expect of designs on AnarchyWARE? You can expect just about anything. From politics to religion to blogging to internet memes - AnarchyWARE designs for all facets of life as anarchy is in them all.

That wasn’t so scary now, was it?

The site is an extension of a goodstorm, which is the site that actually handles the manufacturing of the t-shirts. Goodstorm is a good home for Anarchyware as they make good quality shirts, they don’t have some of the counterproductive practices of cafepress and spreadshirt and their prices are more competitive.
